Installation contracts and workforce development

DEME's Zeevonk contract adds 69 turbines to the future offshore installation pipeline in the Netherlands, following its foundation award for the same project.

At the same time, the Global Offshore Wind Awards recognised apprenticeship and training programmes — including the OEG and Ørsted apprenticeship programme, a joint Power in Collaboration winner — and an RWE apprentice of the year.

New installation contracts and workforce training are two sides of the same need: projects can only be delivered if there are enough trained technicians to build and maintain them.
